*** CHARTER study aims to examine white and gray matter changes in HIV and the relationship of these changes to treatment regimens.
*** There are five national sites (all GE 1.5T systems), the center is located here at UCSD, and the project is now in the data collection phase for first year followup scans.
*** mBIRN has consulted with CHARTER regarding gradient distortion correction in a combined image set of 3D T1/PD and 2D T2/PD volumes.
*** Future collaborative aims are related to the integration of complementary tools for analysis of multi-spectral data that aims to capture these white matter changes more automatically, with the local group of investigators (R. Notestine, A. Gamst, A. Dale).
