Goal
The goal of this workshop is to bring together Research Clinicians in Image-Guided Therapy (IGT) for a 2-day workshop to share their recent advances and to identify synergies in future strategy. The intent of the workshop is to foster community-based development, to share best practices in the clinical deployment of such systems, to identify gaps in the existing infrastructure available to IGT research clinicians, and ultimately to facilitate the transfer of knowledge among NIH-sponsored research centers.
The workshop will concentrate on the clinical aspects of IGT systems, as the technological aspects have been covered in a similar workshop in 2006. The agenda will include (a) keynote talks that will review clinical aspects of IGT, (b) talks by NCIGT leadership to summarize the progress made by the center since its inception, as well as (c)talks by principal investigators of several recently IGI grants funded recently by the NIH. Breakout sessions will follow in which the participants will receive hands-on tutorials on clinical IGT applications developed by NCIGT.
