Objective
- A prototype software to create population of synthetic 3D objects for shape analysis testing and evaluation.
Approach, Plan
- Artifical shape changes in the form of: global volume preserving transforms, "dimples and bulges", boundary noise.
- Automatic population creation mimicking real data variability.
Progress
- First version of boundary noise creation done.
- Affine transforms for population creation.
Progress during programming week
- Created full pipeline to create synthetic shapes with deformable warps based on the following steps:
- Unbiased atlas building from a normal population.
- Creation of a mean shape.
- Introduction of randomized dimples and bumps both parametrically and non-parametrically.
- Creation of population with these changes from inverse deformation fields (from the atlas).
- Wrote a viewer to inspect population.
- Currently a mixture of C++/matlab and shell scripts. To be streamlined ...
Delivery Mechanism
To early to tell. Either a downloadable set of images, or an open source software suite.
