Update on Phase 3 and Phase 4 mi2b2 software/hardware

  • Phase 4 development, progress are made. Getting MGH machine up and running. Installed windows 2008, 64 bits version. Using java to decompress images before putting them in the repository, seems not to be working on the 64 bits version. Issue: studies with large number of images, not getting all images back (above 2000 no additional images are downloaded), Darren checked that the images were all there so the problem is on the mi2b2 end. Darren is working with the PACS team to resolve the problem. The same case (large studies) will be tried at BWH to see if the same problem occurred.
  • Able to get some images to Vincent and Randy. Bill sent them through the laptop, not through the new server, it might be useful to try it to make sure the server is working fine. Performance was not outstanding, the new server should improve that.
  • Dave has been working to streamline the UI on the client filtering side and the image viewer.
  • Jesse is working on the BIDMC machine.

mi2b2 in-progress demo

  • Dave presented the video: client-side filter, download manager and image controls.
    • Client-side dynamic filter: request ID will be used for internal tracking, it is an ID per study request, easy for debugging.
    • Download: can follow download status, possibility to cancel download of a study (for example if it is very slow).
    • Image control: viewer to see the images, couple of controls for brightness, contrast, zoom so people can check the quality of the download. Images viewed are decompressed.

Action items

  • XNAT still on radar but the first task is to get a version in production for investigators like Randy and Vincent to use.
