Software for the fiber tracking and statistical analysis along the tracts has been implemented. The statistical methods for diffusion tensors are implemented as ITK code as part of the [[NA-MIC/Projects/Diffusion_Image_Analysis/DTI_Software_and_Algorithm_Infrastructure|DTI Software Infrastructure]] project. The methods have been validated on a repeated scan of a healthy individual. This work has been published as a conference paper (MICCAI 2005) and a journal version (MEDIA 2006). Our recent IPMI 2007 paper includes a nonparametric regression method for analyzing data along a fiber tract.

Key Investigators

  • Queen's: Tamas Ungi
  • BWH: Junichi Tokuda, Laurent Chauvin

Objective

Consolidate the SlicerIGT extension.

  • Make sure everything compiles on every platform.
  • Every module has documentation, and some example use cases or tests.
  • Discuss how to present individual contribution and collaboration at the same time (meeting with PIs).
  • Coordinate plans between groups.

Approach, Plan

  • Collect typical use cases.
  • Create simulated environment to test use cases offline.
  • Develop documentation and tutorials.
  • Use the Thursday morning meeting

Progress

  • Agreed on the scope of SlicerIGT: components for developers to rapidly prototype IGT applications.
  • Discussions about use cases and integration of modules into SlicerIGT. Modules need to be usable by other modules through public logic or MRML interface.
  • Agreed on common OpenIGTLink commands to control external tools from robots to ultrasound machines. The OpenIGTLinkRemote module will implement this function.
  • Website for non-developers: www.slicerigt.org
  • Source code on Github: [1]
