Osteoporosis
A condition of bone mineral loss affecting the aging population
- Impacts 200 million people WW
- Leads to 9 million fractures each year
- Inflicts pain, morbidity, and mortality
- Direct annual costs: close to $20 billion in the US, €30+ billion in Europe
- Fractures and complications are preventable with lifestyle changes, diet, and medication
- However, Osteoporosis is largely underdiagnosed
Radnostics Osteoporosis Detection in CT
A solution for early diagnosis of osteoporosis
- Tens of millions of CT scans are performed annually for various medical conditions
- Radnostics measures osteoporosis biomarkers in CT scans and detects patients at risk
- No need for a dedicated procedure
- No additional radiation
- No need for phantoms
- 100% automated
- Integration into the clinical workflow

Objective
We are building a fully automated tool to detect findings of osteoporosis by inspecting the morphology, structure, and density of vertebral bodies in CT studies performed for other clinical reasons and making it available as a 3D Slicer command line module
Approach, Plan
Radnostics Beta 1 command line module migration to 3D Slicer v4
Progress
Delivery Mechanism
This work will be delivered to the NA-MIC Kit as a
- Slicer Module
- Extension -- commandline
