We are working with I2B2 via the Imaging Core of the Harvard Catalyst CTSC to customize 3D Slicer and XNAT from the NA-MIC Kit to support integration of medical imaging with other sources of clinical data in the “I2B2 Hive” for doing large scale clinical bioinformatics research in which imaging data is needed as biomarkers or endophenotypes. A secondary outcome will be to greatly facilitate access to medical imaging data for secondary research use following rigorous practices that protect human subject privacy and clinical enterprise.
