  • Alireza Mehrtash, Sandy Wells, Tina Kapur, Ron Kikinis, BWH

Project Description

Objective

  • Review data from recent AMIGO neurosurgery case (MR, US)
    • Identify and evaluate sources of error
    • Review options for improving overall imaging accuracy

Approach, Plan

  • Alireza to collect all MR and US data for this case
  • Manual and automated registration tools to be used for review
  • Brainstorming about how to either fix the current system or circumvent Brainlab so that all pieces of the system can be debugged

Progress

  • Held a breakout session to evaluate data from several cases
    • Reviewed extent and possible causes of mis-registrations
    • Evaluated possible solutions
  • Alireza to make anonymized datasets available in public repository with descriptions of the various datasets
  • Steve to work on benchtop system to emulate neurosurgical setup (with Jim and with help from Andras and Tamas)
  • Matt and Sandy to take example data and attempt feature-based US to US registration
  • Sandy and Steve to explore mechanics-based interpolation
