Project Description

The project discusses visualization concepts and infrastructure for intraoperative use of functional mapping data (fMRI+DTI, nTMS+DTI) in neurosurgery beyond standard neuronavigation.

Objective Approach and Plan Progress and Next Steps
  • create study designs to evaluate adjustments in providing functional data intraoperatively
  • sketch out design concept for context-sensitive functional information including integration in intraoperative workflows
  • prioritize short-term study designs for clinical evaluation of added surgical value
  • development of visualization setup protocol (additional to neuronavigation setup)
    • a) side-by-side presentation of structural and functional information
    • b) side-by-side presentation of functional information in iPlan Cranial and 3DSlicer
  • short evaluation questionnaire for surgeons
