Meeting Minutes

  • Shawn has been working with each site to get all the right people added to correct site i2b2 IRB protocols (Kathy and Darren to the Partners wide one, Chris, Bill and Paul to CHB, Jesse and Chris to BIDMC. Chris, Bill and Paul are working on their CITI training, Darren completed his.
  • Server hardware site update:
    • (CHB) Will be first site to try install of mi2b2 and STAR-D this week.
    • (BIDMC) Jesse wrote in an email that his approval process is moving but slowly.
    • (BWH) Kathy computer's has been shipped.
    • (MGH) Darren's laptop will be ready this week, his site will be second to get mi2b2 and STAR-D installation.
  • Initial opening discussion of Use Cases prompted another discussion of what medical imaging data is in the PACS systems and what is out. All agreed that the scope of mi2b2 is only what is currently under the management of the Departments of Radiology.
    • For instance, at BWH have much in PACS including some intraoperative imaging, obstetric ultrasound, cardiology. Don't have opthamology, pathology, or GI endoscopy.
    • Action Item is for Randy and Valerie to catalogue this information outside of this meeting time and share with group so we can properly represent what our project will achieve as well as to best guide our initial use cases.
  • Use case idea suggested by Randy, Shawn and clinical investigator Martha Shenton, PhD (Professor of Psychiatry at BWH) is to investigate neuroimaging correlates of Traumatic Brain Injury (mild to moderately severe, closed injury only). Could use CT, MRI (structural and/or diffusion) modalities. Could be relevant across the lifespan and so would be amenable to be studied at all 4 participating sites. Shawn started a quick first draft of the RPDR query live as a demo.

On going Action Items

  1. Do amendments to each site i2b2 IRB to add mi2b2 study personnel
