Dartmouth test data and MNI template: Dartmouth structural dataset acquired on a Philips Achieva 3T scanner; normalized dataset generated with SPM5, courtesy of the Brain Imaging Laboratory, Dartmouth Medical School. Both the structural and normalized (MPRAGE) data consist of 170 sagittal slices; 1x1x1.2 mm3 voxels. The download also includes the target dataset colin27 MNI template downloaded from http://imaging.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/downloads/Colin/ and described here: http://imaging.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/imaging/MniTalairach.
Registration challenge: To perform group analyses in fMRI studies, individual subject data is often spatially normalized to a standard space, such as Talairach or MNI. We experimented with current ITK-based non-rigid registration tools to register this structural scan to the MNI target, but were not able to get a good result (such as the normalized dataset generated using SPM5).
