Meeting Minutes
mi2b2 software update
- Working out the integration between the GUI and the underlying mi2b2 software. Working out the issues as the workflow progresses from "tab 3" to "tab 4". Left from Phase 2 is performance issues at MGH - some problems due to lack of static IP address. Reviewed the hardware specs used for the BWH site, and agreed that it would be fine with the addition of more disk space using the configuration/equipment that is "native" to the MGH site.
Bill Wang was able to get the Phase 3 middle tier programming mostly completed. New programing includes the following functitonality. Requests that are generated go to a queue on the STAR-D server, a separate DAEMON process fulfills the request and updates the status for the user, and copies the image to local cache. The UI programming is moving along, needs another week or two to move into testing mode. The next deployment of the mi2b2 software (Phase 3) to sites will include the above described core functionality accessed via the new UI.
ACRIN presentation
The presentation went smoothly as did whole session. Most interesting to Chris was the connection he made with Dan Rubin of Stanford who is interested in collaborating on the annotation requirements for our project. Also had a useful conversation with guy from Wake Forest (have i2b2 and XNAT up and running)
BIDMC mi2b2 proposal is approved
- Jesse reported that the BIDMC Radiology Department gave it's approval for the project. The project was passed to the IT group for implementation in cooperation with Jesse. He will explore the options of a virtual machine versus a new separate physical machine.
XNAT -- mi2b2 integration
- Chris is working with the XNAT team to develop the bridges to link XNAT and mi2b2.
TIMC requirements
- Bill Hanlon described his Program's workflow for obtaining medical imaging data from the various sites. Key issue is that image data requests are made in small numbers (< 30 data sets/day distributed across 4 sites) and need to be executed as close to immediately as possible. Currently they have a direct network connection for MGH, BWH and DFCC so this happens relatively easily. At BIDMC the situation is somewhat slower, requiring a paper transaction for documentation often requiring up to 1 hour at times (~ 10% TIMC study volume). Very little volume with CHB. Discussed if and how mi2b2 software might be useful.
