Key Investigators

  • UNC: Beatriz Paniagua, Clement Vachet, Martin Styner
  • Iowa: Hans Johnson

Objective

SPHARM-PDM is a tool that computes point-based models using a parametric boundary description for the computing of Shape analysis. We want to use SPHARM-PDM to create point-based correspondent models of subcortical structures involved in the progression of Hungtinton's disease. Once the models are computed, quality control is possible using MRML data in 3D Slicer.

Approach, Plan

Meeting with the interested parties to show preliminary shape data we will have already computed by Jan 2012. Decide next steps.

Progress

Hans validated our initial pipeline for HD shape analysis: data gathering, correspondence computing, statistical analysis. Comments and ideas for shape analysis will be included into the general pipeline that will be delivered to Iowa for processing of the full HD dataset.

Delivery Mechanism

This work will be delivered to the NA-MIC Kit as a

  1. Slicer Module
    1. Extension -- commandline
    2. Extension -- loadable
