Plan for immediate term interactions

Core 3.2 will provide a data set with:

  • “Fallon quality” segmentations for selected substructures
  • Associated data (structural, functional, genetic) -- Registered to common coordinate frame
  • “Rules” that are used to define segmentation of structures

Core 1 will apply existing (and developing) algorithms to:

  • Build statistical models of shapes
  • Modes, variations, properties
  • Build statistical models of connectivity (if available)
  • Use learned models to develop shape and atlas driven segmentations that can be compared to ground truth
  • Measure correlation of genetic factors with above models
  • Answer initial questions as to whether there are statistically significant shape and connectivity properties

This process will cycle:

  • Initial answers will help define what should be next set of structures, genetic parameters, etc. E.g. if there are measurable shape differences in certain structures, that should guide analysis of DTI interpretation, of additional structures to analyze and genetic parameters to investigate
  • Look at larger scale systems issues
  • Look at analyzing shape, function and other interactions on such larger scale collections
