Kitware Job Posting: Open-Source Developers for Digital Libraries, Bioinformatics, and Information Visualization

Kitware, Inc. is actively seeking talented software professionals to work as PHP/Web Developers and/or project lead for our open-source MIDAS system (http://www.kitware.com/products/midas.html).

Candidates will create, develop and improve leading edge imaging software solutions in the context of an open-source and highly collaborative development model. By joining our team you will participate in a dynamic work environment with exceptionally talented co-workers committed to high quality development practices; and collaborate with esteemed researchers from around the world by:

  • helping to shape the functional requirements;
  • investigating and using Cloud technologies;
  • participating in design and code reviews;
  • mentoring other developers;
  • assisting in feasibility analysis and estimation; and
  • contributing to and leading government and commercial proposals.

Qualified candidates will have 4 or more years of web development experience; 2 or more years AMP (Apache, MySQL, PHP) experience; a bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field; and solid experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and OO programming. Experience in working with PHP frameworks such as CakePHP is also a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for you to contribute your knowledge of: PostgreSQL; cloud infrastructures; test-driven development processes; and Git, memcache, C++ and Python.
