Key Investigators

  • Utah: Josh Cates, Manasi Datar, Tom Fletcher, Rob MacLeod, Ross Whitaker
  • UNC: Clement Vachet, Beatriz Paniagua, Martin Styner
  • Others?

Objective

Several groups within NAMIC and its supported biomedical image analysis community are working with the particle-based shape modeling (PBM) algorithms originally developed by Cates, et al, with extensions by Oguz, et al. and others. The objective of this work is to coordinate various ongoing code development efforts and formulate a plan for merging codebases and integrating with Slicer.

Approach, Plan

Our plan for the project week is to:

  • Meet with all interested parties
  • Identify existing research and development efforts that should be coordinated, including upcoming work with ITK V4
  • Migrate the SCI ShapeWorks codebase to NITRC
  • Plan for how to work with particle code from within Slicer

Progress

Preliminary meeting on this topic is Tues 1/11 at 3pm

Delivery Mechanism

This work will be delivered to the NA-MIC Kit as:

API for working with particle systems that will be used in Slicer modules from other code modules
