Key Investigators

  • BWH: Laurent Chauvin, Noby Hata

Objective

The goal is to create a automated robot to control ultrasound probe, and, by using PLUS library and Slicer, create a 3D map of a region of interest. The map would be updated over the time and the volume reconstructed to obtain volume modifications and be able to observe transform. An information screen would also be overlaid to display information (distance, volume, surface, etc...).

Approach, Plan

  • Get familiar with PLUS library
  • Connect Ultrasound probe to computer
  • Create Slicer module / extension
  • Calibrate probe and acquire images
  • Reconstruct volume
  • Update volume with new images
  • Create information overlaid screen
  • Optimize ( framerate, reconstruction, robot, etc...)

Progress

Delivery Mechanism

This work will be a Slicer4 module, maybe extension.

  • To investigator appropriate distribution mechanism. Extension manager? What is the expected level of quality? Who should I talk to ? Multi-OS support needed? What level of documentation is need. We are ready to distribute this module to open source community, but we are not familiar with the up-to-date distribution mechanism.
