Objective

  • This project will investigate the use of a single-element ultrasound transducer for 2D image reconstruction from navigated 2D ultrasound images.
  • Technology: invariant feature extraction, descriptor representation.
  • Application domains: registration, respiratory motion compensation
  • Image domains: Ultrasound.
  • Clinical use case scenarios: Establishment of a 4D motion atlas from 2D ultrasound data.

Approach, Plan

  • Discussion and documentation
  • Algorithms: fast KNN methods, binning.
  • Mathematical formalisms: Correlation, similarity measures.
