Introduction

Image-Guided Therapy Research using Open Source Free Software 3D Slicer

Ultrasound Workshop at Iwate Medical University, April 10-11 2013

The objective of this workshop is to learn to use 3D Slicer in medical research. Participants will bring their own laptop, install 3D Slicer, and practice functional MRI (fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) tractography, and image segmentation using real clinical data. They will first be taught how to use the Grow Cut Segmentation and Label Statistics Slicer modules using ordinary clinical ultrasound images. Attendees will be given a lecture by an expert in 3D Slicer using a Japanese language version of the tutorial slides. The workshop will be followed by a demonstration by an IGT researcher from Brigham and Women's Hospital modifying 3D Slicer to tailor its use to clinical applications. Another demonstration by Dr.Kazunori Baba, a clinical expert on ultrasound scanning from Saitama Medical Center, will follow. A plenary talk by Dr.Ron Kikinis is scheduled midway through the workshop.

コースの目的

このワークショップはオープンソースソフトウェア3D Slicer を用いて画像誘導手術向けシュミュレーション、ナビゲーション勿論のこと、本会の特徴は従来の医用画像CT, MRIに加え超音波画像処理について臨床医(脳外科、外科、放射線科、泌尿器科、小児科、産婦人科等)・工学者・大学院生の現場に見合った基礎を含めた実践講義を目的とした事です。特に、この度は臨床産科超音波画像を用いGrow Cut SegmentationLabel Statistics のデモンストレーションを行います。特別講演は埼玉医療センター教授 馬場一憲先生 とBrigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School 教授 Ron Kikinis 先生のお二方が3D超音波画像と3D Sliceについてレクチャーして下さいます。馬場教授は3D超音波の開発、そしてRon 教授は3D Slicerの臨床用開発に携わり、両教授は各分野でのエキスパートです。ワークショップは各々のパソコンにフトウェアをダンロードし、皆さんが臨床で用いる画像データーを自身で3D Slicerにローデイングし先端画像処理を実践できます。ワークショップで用いるソフトウェアは無償でプログラムソースコードが公開されており、ソフトウェア終了後は皆さんのアイデアにより画像処理やシュミュレーション技術を探求する事が可能です。同時に画層処理・技術探求について興味を抱いた方は講師からアドバイスを得る事が出来る機会でもあります。このワークショップは Brigham and Women's Hospital のIGT 研究所 の監修のもと開催されます。

  • 盛岡駅からタクシーで5~10分、バス(バスセンター行き岩手銀行前で降車)10分、徒歩15~20分。
  • 岩手医科大学付属病院内、周辺に有料駐車場が多数あります。しかし時間帶により混雑が予想されますので公共交通機関もしくは盛岡駅からの徒歩をお勧めします。

参加者は、講義当日までに各自のノートブックパソコンに下記に記したSlicerをダウンロードしてインストールしてきください。インストールは通常の商用ソフトと同様自動です。主として医師、研修医、技師、理工学大学院生を対象としてカリキュラムは組まれています。当日は有線ケーブルよるネットワークへの接続を行います(無線LAN使用可能か確認中)。可能な限り参加者ご自身で、予め3D Slicerソフトウェア,サンプルデータ,チュートリアル資料をダウンロードしてご持参下さい。お時間の無い方は会場にてインストールのお手伝いを致します。その場合は恐れ入りますが30分前までには会場へお越し下さい.
