- Beta test XNAT at two sites (site 1: PGP @ MGH)
- Create XNAT database from typical BIRN database
- Test XML conversion between XNAT and and HID at UCSD
- Create web app based on BIRN XNAT schema
- Write a paper and documentation for XNAT

- Core data schema is complete and available for review. Please submit comments to dmarcus@wustl.edu
- Beta implementation of XNAT has been deployed at MGH as part of the Phenotype Genotype Project. Existing data is currently being migrated to the XNAT schema. Data model extensions are being developed to incorporate structural, functional, diffusion, clinical and behavioral classes of data.
- Ongoing development at WashU and MGH will yield standard web-based documents and image viewing tools by Oct 2005.
- A second beta site will be identified and tested for Oct 2005.

- MGH-PGP-XNAT conference call. Attended by: Dave Kennedy, Dan Marcus, Yong Gao, Heidi Schmidt, and Tim Olsen. XNAT database and webapp are now deployed and operational at MGH. Current focus is on getting real data into database, customizing web application, and deploying image viewer. See Beta Testing @ MGH for more details.

- XNAT Preinstallation teleconference held. Attended by: Dan Marcus, Yong Gao, Heidi Schmidt, Tony Lissot, Tim Clark, Georgios Asteris, Hans Breiter. These are representatives of the Wash U XNAT development team, MGH mBIRN and MGH PGP projects. Issues related to documentation, hardware/software requirements, installation, timeline and testing were discussed. Details regarding these topics will be entered into the XNAT Documentation and Beta Testing @ MGH wiki pages, where appropriate.

- PGP slated as first site.
- PGP Meetings held to discuss details & questions 2/2/05 2:30PM
- Installation tests started on work PC to test Apache software etc.

- Dev server for MGH using Fedora Core 2 for internal requirements of Freesurfer

- Randy Buckner visited MGH last week and spoke with leaders of the Phenotype-Genotype Project. They have agreed to become an XNAT beta testing site. Tentatively, we will begin data modelling and installation in early February.
- Heidi Schmidt visited Wash U on Jan 5 & 6 to get a technical briefing on XNAT. Heidi is currently evaluating whether XNAT meets her group's requirements for managing data.
- On the development front, we have completed the XML<->SQL tool and are now working on an upgrade to the XNAT security model and improving search and browse functionality. We plan to complete history and quarantine functionality prior to beta testing.
- Next on the docket: documentation, improved upload/download, additional beta site.
