The most common task is aligning a structural MRI or CT scan with a PET or SPECT image. Reference space is the structural scan. Because the PET or SPECT images are lower in resolution and often have dramatically different contrast, automated registration can be challenging. However we find that good alignment can often be achieved with the existing tools.
