Project: Development of Automated Segmentation and Meshing Framework for Orthopeadic Applications

Goals:

  1. Development and Validation of Automated Neural Network Segmentation for Orthopeadic Joints.
  2. Development of Automated Volumetric Meshing Algorithms.
  3. Integration of User Interface into Slicer

Current Status:

  1. Prototype neural network application being refactored using ITK framework.
  2. Basic volumetric mesh framework has been begun, but not yet functional in ITK.
  3. User interface has yet to be developed.

Test Data: MR and CT scans exist for 15 cadeaveric upper extremities. Surface scanning is being done to validate the manual and automated routines.
