1. Consultations
- JIRA # 170: migraine pathophysiology. The PI requested Randy as a consultant.
- JIRA #171: The Effects of Docosahexaenoic acid on Periodontitis. Bob will work on this consultation
2. Education program
- Jeff will be the leader for the oncology sessions, Valerie will confirm with Todd if he can be the leader for the cardiovascular session. Randy will not be available for the neuroimaging session, Charles offered his help for October 18.
3. Pilot grants
- The research navigators sent us a list of all the pilot grants proposals related to imaging. Out of the 316 full proposals received, 73 had an imaging component. A total of 63 grants were funded, 13 had an imaging component.
- Valerie and Randy will draft a message to send to the applicants whose proposal was not funded to offer the help of the imaging consortium to work on a competitive proposal.
K02 program
- Gordon Williams mentioned the K02 program (special salary-only grant designed to provide protected time for newly independent scientists who currently have non-research obligations such as heavy teaching loads, clinical work, committee assignments, service, and administrative duties that prevent them from having a period of intensive research focus). A lot of imaging people applied but few got a grant. We should educate them. Make sure their proposal shows how it will lead to the next level of funding.
