1. Consultations update
- This week we had 2 new requests, one on 3D images in solid models, one about analysis of fMRI sequences.
2. Education plan for 2011
- On March 15 and 16, Clare, Bob and Jeff are giving talks during the Intensive Training in Translational Medicine, Module 1 - Biomarkers and Imaging in Drug Development.
- Jeff met with Ted Treves from CHB who is the Director of the Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine. He organized a molecular imaging course (audience: residents and post-doc) and would like to make it more accessible to a broader audience. Jeff offered the help of our group if there is a need for speaker, we will also support them to advertise the course. Ted expressed his interest in having video recording for clinical people who have difficulties to attend.
- Bob will follow up with Ivan on the angiogenesis course development.
- Valerie and Randy are working on scheduling a series of 1h lecture on fMRI at the different institutions followed by 2 full days boot camp during the fall.
- Any RSNA education abstract for RSNA 2011 must be submitted by March 31.
3. # Y4 Budget justification
- Everybody received a table with Y3 consultations done per consultant to help writing Y4 budget justification. Anyone who expect to do more than logged for Y3 need to justify their plan of action.
- To track the national effort: lectures, courses go under education and meetings (IWG, UPIC) go under management.
- Valerie will send a proposition for a new vision for the imaging program that is based on more one-to-on mentoring. Everybody agreed that it is a good model.
- We need to track preliminary metrics resulting from consultations because papers, grants are always months ago. There are a lot of milestones necessary to an outcome: submission of a study, 1st acquisition of data.
- Several members asked to learn more about our medical imaging informatics effort, during our March 8 face-to-face meeting, Randy and Yong will make a presentation.
- This year the multicenter trial group must deliver concrete thing. The most valuable is to do a couple of cross-Harvard studies from conception to recruitment, acquisition, analysis and management.
- It is important to highlight to help provided to people outside of the Radiology Department.
