1. Consultations
- A couple of new consultations have been entered in the JIRA system, all are assigned.
2. Osirix demonstration
- Rudolph Piennar from CHB gave the group a demo of Osirix. In his group they use it as a DICOM reader and to query the hospital PACS.
- Couple of advantages: Anonamization feature built-in, very efficient DICOM viewer, good 3D rendering, searchable database, data can be dragged in anither repository such as XNAT, very fast preview of data
- Wendy presented an overview of Osirix with some comparisons to Slicer.
- A very nice feature is the smart folders, it matches search query so the data are automatically sent to the folder
- Built-in plug-in can be added but it is more difficult to extend than Slicer.
- Slicer is more powerful for image analysis
- The group will asked the residency program if they would be interested in some Osirix tutorials for their residents.
- DFCI is used at DFCI also, it is very useful to see outside scans as a temporary database.
- A FDA approved version will be release soon.
