1. Consultations update
- This week we had 2 new requests for consultation, both for Giorgio Bonmassar, both were biomedical engineering issues. Valerie also worked on a previous request to help an MGH investigator with a P41 grant application.
2. Imaging networking session (10/27, 4-6 pm)
- October 27, 2010, 4:00pm – 6:00pm, Benjamin Waterhouse Room, Gordon Hall, Harvard Medical School, 25 Shattuck Street, Boston. The Harvard Catalyst Research Navigators and the Harvard Catalyst Translational Imaging Program invite the Harvard community to hear Robert Lenkinski, PhD, and Charles Guttmann, MD, give an overview of Harvard’s biomedical imaging resources and opportunities for collaboration. The two-hour session will feature an overview of available imaging modalities and data analysis. The goal of the evening is to bring together a diverse group of investigators to explore how imaging might be brought to bear on critical biomedical questions.
- Valerie received a list of attendees with their research interest, she will forward it to the group.
3. Harvard Catalyst COC meeting (Nov 10)
- Harvard Catalyst invited both the imaging and genetics group to present at the next Catalyst Operating Committee meeting (Nov 10, 10:30a-noon, Countway Ballard Room). They want to learn about what we have accomplished so far, what we are planning ahead and where our challenges/opportunities lie. They also want to have a small taste of mi2b2 would be great (~5-10 minutes).
- It will be a good venue to express our interest in getting more funding for imaging pilot scans. Valerie will review the proposition submitted last year by Clare and Gordon W. and will make it into a slide.
- Bob suggested to include some information about the establishment of an infrastructure to support multi-center imaging projects.
- Annick mentioned to list the clinical research coordinators as a new targeted audience for our upcoming education offerings.
4. mi2b2
- Randy gave an updated status of the mi2b2 project. She asked if the members of the group would have good Driving Biological Projects (DBPs) that use the newly created mi2b2 infrastructure to enable novel medical imaging based clinical research (including submission of new grants to support the continued development and maintenance of the mi2b2 project). Simon is very interested and will follow up with Randy.
