Meeting Minutes
mi2b2 update and discussion
- Bill Wang phase 2 testing is complete at CHB, BWH, MGH, with consistent viewing error in the Image J window (upside down and reversed) across sites. Another unresolved issue is error messages coming from BWH in response to Cmove of MRI DICOM images. Darren pointed out that we need to be wary at MGH to exclude the teleradiology image data. Won't be a problem for CHB or BIDMC since they keep the teleradiology completely separate from the internal PACS for storage, retrieval, etc. Need to check with BWH. Concerns for how to deal with fMRI data because DICOM is highly variable by vendor about how it stores the data (historically there was not support for multi-frame DICOM, so that the scan would be stored by slice with all time points or by timepoint with all slices). Per Dan, DICOM is improving support for multi-frame image data (need it for DCE MRI for instance) and his next planned release of XNAT (1.5) will include support for multi-frame data.
mi2b2 -- XNAT connections
- Shawn is going to submit an abstract for the national CTSC Informatics meeting. Discussed whether it should be a joint Harvard-Wash U presentation on the mi2b2 project- the connection of i2b2 and xnat. Content that would be ready by then would be the i2b2 unaware use of STAR-D to query and retrieve images then managing PUP (Project-User-Permission) the authentication requirements would be complete the rest would be manual.
SIIMS
- Discussed submitting an abstract for SIIM meeting for 2011 (http://www.scarnet.org/). Will discuss next meeting.
