The Radiology Department has a dedicated 3D image processing lab, providing analysis and volumetric image processing for clinical examinations. This lab also performs 3D volumetric CT research for the department. Postprocessing of CT and MR data is performed using GE Advantage Workstations as well as the Vital Images Vitrea 2 software. We are also utilizing GE AW Extends Workstation software and are integrating Vital Images ViTAL Connect as well as TeraRecon ("thin client") with our PACS to allow both radiologists and nonradiologist clinicians to analyze and segment volumes from routine desktop computers (rather than dedicated workstations).
