- Complete transition of Killian Pohl's joint segmentation and registration algorithm to ITK optimizers, breaking dependance on Numerical Recipies (Killian Pohl, Dan Blezek, Steve Pieper)
- Jim Miller helped BWH implement fMRI statistics in slicer to eliminate dependence on GSL (with incompatible license)
- Andy Cedilnik wrote CMake files for Gordon Kindlmann's Teem software and started a dashboard, which sped up debugging.
2005 November
- November 17-18: John Melonakos (Georgia Tech), visited Kitware for two days and worked with Karthik Krisnan (Kitware) and Luis Ibanez(Kitware) on Bayesian Classification Filter addition to ITK
- November 16-17: James Fallon (USC Irvine) advised Martin Styner (UNC) on his work of DTI fiber based analysis of white matter myelination defects in neonates suffering from Krabbe's leukodystrophy. This interaction lead to a clear, new focus in the project, which has shown already very promising results.
