Talk:Dissemination:Workshop Feb17-18 2005 San Diego Feedback
hi everyone, Thanks for coming to the workshop. -Tina
Presentation style
It might be better if in each presentation, we started with an example that people can run on their computers, and then the presenter explains how the general program or algorithm works. For example, to understand how a level set thresholding algorithm works, it would be better if we first ran the appropriate exercise on our computers, saw the resulting images, and then go back and learn how the algorithm actually works. We often had the presenter explain the algorithm first, then everyone ran an example, and then the whole room was asking questions about very basic aspects of the algorithms.
Quite useful
The workshop was useful in terms of understanding the concepts and how to use ITK to implement them. The workshop can be made a little longer as towards the end there was not enough time to cover all the exercises.
* Content: I would have loved to see Slicer being taught in a more organized fashion that the way it was handled. The presentations could have been more interactive by having small (to the point) exercises, which slowly unveiled the features of slicer.
