1. Vision for I squared
- All the personnel from the imaging consortium received a notice that starting in October 2011, there will be a transition in term of salary. People will go from % effort to hourly fee for both consultation and lectures. It will be important to learn more details on how to proceed to collect the time spent on education. For consultations, people will continue to log their hours in JIRA.
- Randy gave a summary of the many achievements of the imaging consortium beyond the consultation service. She mentioned our efforts at the national level (RSNA, ACRIN) and the fact that this year again we are invited at both meeting for several education series. There is still no word on budget for travel.
- Randy also provided an update on mi2b2 that right now is being develop both as research and teaching tool.
2. Education
- Jeff met with the Harvard Catalyst education team to put together a new edition of the biomarker course (October 3 and 4, 2011). There are still a couple of slots to fill (development of MRI contrast agents, DCE-MRI, ...). The group suggested a couple of names of experts in each field. Jeff will follow up with them.
- Darin Dougherty (MGH) contacted Randy regarding the organization of a course on the use of neuroimaging in clinical research to be held at the BIDMC on Nov 1, 8, and 15 from 2-4:30 pm CITP fellowship. On behalf of the Harvard Catalyst Imaging Consortium she offered help covering the requested material. Our team of imaging experts has many talks exactly at this level already available. One key lecture being the overview one the topic of imaging biomarkers.
- Clare mentioned the BWH Intro to Clinical Research Course on September 15 and 16, 2011.
3. Evaluation Data Collection form
- Valerie is almost done with the Evaluation Data Collection form, due July 15.
4. Mutlicenter trial working group
- Charles presented the proposal the multicenter trial subgroup wrote about the use of imaging in clinical trial. The program would focus on validation guidelines, standardization of image acquisition, easily accessible image analysis and education. The strategy would be to leverage existing clinical trials as case study to implement novel quantitative imaging biomarkers.
